FG to Inaugurate Doing Business Competitiveness Council Committee

The Federal Government will this week inaugurate a Doing Business Competitiveness Council Committee as part of its investment climate reforms programme that is aimed at improving the ease of doing business in Nigeria.
The Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, disclosed this during an inspection tour of the facilities and operations of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (...NIPC).

The NIPC which was formerly under the presidency was moved to the Ministry of Trade and Investment.

The Minister said that the Competitiveness Council, which will be funded and driven by the private sector, would focus on the reports and rankings on the Easing of Doing Business in Nigeria with a view to improving the country’s global ranking in doing business index.

Nigeria is ranked number 133 out of 183 countries in the World in terms of less difficulty in doing business by the World Bank Global Doing Business Report 2012.
