Five Nigerian acts nominated in the Ghana Music Awards

Five Nigerian acts; D’banj, Naeto C, Wizkid, Ice Prince and Duncan Mighty have been nominated in the Best African Artiste category of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Festival. The only non-Nigerian in the group is Angolan music star, Cabo Snoop of the Windeck fame. Nominees for the 13th edition of the VGMA were unveiled Wednesday during a live telecast on popular Ghanaian entertainment television, GH-One. Already, a short code has been activated for the public to vote their favourite and best artiste in the year under review. Somalian, K’naan, was adjudged winner of the category last year. One of the country’s best selling acts, Sarkodie racks up ten nominations making it the year’s highest.

The VGMA Festival is perhaps the biggest event on the Ghanaian entertainment calendar, which aims among other things to recognise and celebrate the enterprise and dedication of the various players in Ghana’s growing music industry through a coveted awards programme.
